Bluesy, free-wheeling jazz from Johnny Griffin's 1964 quartet, recorded in Cologne, West Germany that year and released on the Philips label. Aside from Griffin's intoxicatingly fluid, lilting and swinging blues lines (the title track is a highlight) and the stellar accompaniment of bassist Jimmy Woode and the immortal innovator Kenny Clarke on drums, Belgian France Boland's appearance on piano is of particular interest, recalling at times Jaki Byard.
Performers: Johnny Griffin (t-sx), Francy Boland (pi), Jimmy Woode (bs), Kenny Clarke (dr)
